  1. This was NOTHING about “never” owning REITs. Just that at super high valuations they were not ideal. Such as the time then they made this interview (investor presentation in 2005).

  2. Never cared for their arrogant tone and irony. As someone who made a small fortune in real estate and living off passive income a very comfortable lifestyle for the past 35 years, it appears to me that they are very biased towards always pushing their funds and always finding reasons why alternative investments are not as good.

  3. 💡 The Long-Term Investor brings up an essential nuance here regarding warren buffett: why reits are a scam (real estate investment trusts). In my experience leading teams in this space, aligning daily operational execution with clear measurable benchmarks is what unlocks compounding growth.

  4. A chance to do something more intelligent … then the market crashes 2.5 years later haha… I wonder if he knew .. the biggest investment opportunity in 20 years was going to happen

  5. I'm curious how you'd approach what's the part of this that gets the least attention? I think it's the coordination around infrastructure and operators — which is where a buying group model helps. The group link is on my Base2 channel for people seriously exploring this.

  6. I know Warren came out and said he was wrong about gold and is much more positive on gold for well over a year, this shows a date of approx Nov 2025 as a production date but this conversation is from years ago, for one thing Charlie is still alive!

  7. Gold is not a good backer… okay so then why does almost every wealthy country hoard it as a bartering tool if the world economy collapse and the idea of physical money (that used to be backed by gold btw) goes away? I understand these men are revered for who they are, but even intelligent people say dumb things. Otherwise, this was pretty good to listen to

  8. Anyone actually trust these guys?
I don't know anyone that they helped make money other than them bragging about how much they made themselves.
I have learned very little from them if anything. Everything they say benefits themselves.
They are 100% old school, nothing they tell you will make you money today. I never seen them with a new iphone maybe saying that 40 years ago wouldn't matter but we live in the information age. They only understand investing for decades with insurance and sugar drinks like KO. FYI Charlie and Warren I recently flipped some silver coins more than doubled my investment. So much for them thinking metals aren't going up. Listen to these guys for 2 hours and tell me if you actually learn anything useful. I learned how wrong they are. LMAO

  9. Nowhere did Buffet or Munger say to not buy Reits or that they are a scam. You have completely lied and misrepresented what they said as a content creator. A big thumbs down 👎

  10. I bought some REITs in 22 and sold most of them last year. He’s not saying to never own REITs he’s saying be careful bc they usually sell at a premium. SLG and others were at a large discount in 22.
